Same thing's happened with my Quake 4 game as it did with Doom 3 - I don't understand it, I was doing everything the same way when I backed up Age of Empires 3, and that back-up works GREAT! Ok - here's what I did: Ripped Quake 4 from the dvd onto my HDD. Burned it and installed it - but when I click the icon to play on it, it says the DVD needs to be in the disc tray. When I did it with the original copy, it worked fine (just like on Doom 3), but it won't work using my back-up!! I thought the entire point of backing up your games was so you wouldn't have to use the originals and worry about screwing them up?? Can someone help?
well, u can crack it but i believe that restricted to talk about here. i justy said that you can but didnt say how to i believe thats within the rules.
yeah, I had to crack it - I couldn't figure out how to make it work any other way. Doom 3 still has me stumped though. And a 15 year old (roughly) game is struggling to bring my back-up operation to a bitter end! I ripped The Secret of Monkey Island yesterday (yes, it's old, but I still love playing it). I've got it in ISO format, but my virtual drive won't mount it (dunno why), and everytime I clikc play in the menu, it says the disc needs to be inserted... Any thoughts?
