Hello all. Just registered. Also just entered the '21st Century' phone-wise. Up until last week I was with Cingular and a crappy v60 green screen phone. I always thought that camera phones and programmable ringtones and other "whiz bang" stuff didn't belong on a phone. Last week fiancee and I switched to VERIZON. I got her the e815 and was able to score myself a v265. I initially asked to use my old Cingular phone but they said that it couldn't be done. (After doing some research I think they may have lied). Anyway, I want to get a data cable so I can move wallpapers, custom Mp3 ringtones, and games onto the phones. I really don't like the thought of shelling out money to Verizon when I want to place something on MY equipment. My question is, is a data cable a data cable is a data cable? In other words, will any Motorolla data cable work?? I see some advertised on Ebay that say they work with e815 and the v265, then I look at other places that have a data cable just for the v265 and one just for the e815. I'd like to buy just one and use for both. To elminate conflicts, I will install the software (I managed to find MPT 3.23 and P2K) on both my computer and hers. And I'd do the installation with my phone on mine, and her phone on hers. I'll just put the Mp3 tones, wallpapers, and games on a shared file. Any data cable? I don't know about buying on Ebay. Make sure to get a Motorola OEM cable though (SKN6311). These sites will help you tremendously.
