My trying to replace my old Laptop with a new/use one. I'm trying to stick with XP too because my laptop has XP and a lot of sellers have Vista installed in it. I still have my OS XP disc for Dell laptops and a lot of sellers are selling Dell laptops with Vista installed. Anyways!
The question is, if a seller is selling a laptop with Vista installed but I wanted to add XP in it and if the Dell site for Drivers Download has it down for XP, would that still be able to work?

Well, I didn't want to get stuck if all of a sudden the drivers weren't working.

regardless don't wipe vista without making a backup image first use macrium reflect (it's free)coz if you wipe the recovery partition & there's no reinstall disk supplied with vista on it you'll have no way to recover the lappy

If you don't even have a real windows XP disk, it is a bit early to begin wanting to downgrade a laptop to XP. You can get a decent win7x64 laptop for under $350...it will be new, under warranty, and most importantly, new (people tend to treat laptops pretty bad...buying a used one is always a gamble; even if it looks perfect).
