Is it okay to set the TDP & the UPD ports as the same number? I set them to the same number as my bit torrent program, which is 'connectable' now b/c I forwarded the ports recently, & the status of my Overnet program changed from "firewalled" to "open." So this seems like a favorable result, I just want to make sure that setting them both as the same number rather than different ones won't hinder performance at all.

i dont recommend using overnet or edonkey or anything like that connecting to central servers. other programs that connect directly such as the gnutella network is better cause it more secure and on it you are less likely to be dl'ing adult content and viruses and stuff.

That was obviously not the question although I guess I appreciate your response if you were trying to be helpful. Since I will be using Overnet, however, my question is about this specific setting for anyone else who uses the program & may have some knowledge about it.

Oh no worries, my bad i was in sort of a pissy mood when I wrote that. Peerguardian, I'll look into that. Right now I'm using an outdated, unupdated Spy Sweeper, Ad Aware (free version), & AOL Security Center (which I'm sure is probably crap) so I do need an update.

Well thanks a lot, sounds good. Is there any credability to this comment: "This software is fake and does not work download Hide IP Platinum form the link below. If ya want it download it from www.newnova.org on use it on a torrent software like bit comet 0.62
You can get the trail for the software www.v7soft.net"

Peer Guardian is the man. I know some people that have gotten letters and been dropped from their ISP Providers before for the stuff they were downloading . BIG BROTHER is always watching you(don't want the FBI banging down your door). Peer Guardian works!
