Question about powerpoints.

I have a laptop that is connected to a bigger screen. How do i make it to where the powerpoint shows up on the bigger screen and make it to where the laptop is showing the desktop. Basicaly what im trying to say is, that the powerpoint is full screen viewable on the bigger screen, while the laptop allows you to browse around without having to show on the bigger screen what the laptop is currently viewing.
