If I just wanted to mod my PS2 to be able to create custom songs for guitar hero 2, would 3.6 be good enough or should I get 3.8? Also would the Magic keys II set work?
I would recommend the 3.6 discs actually if I had the proper equipment to test the difference between the SM 3.6 and SM 3.8 coder, but I haven't been able to borrow a copy from anyone. I believe the SM 3.8 coder has trouble loading bigger games compared to the SM 3.6 version, which has had a nonexistent problem loading the same games I've burnt and tried to play on my slim though it could also be the PS2 difference - his is a fatty, mine's slim.
Basically, they are the same except that CODER has cheats on it. Somebody reports that CODER has some bugs. If you do not use cheats, there is no reason to buy CODER. Meanwhile, v3.6 is cheaper than v3.8. I would go for the v3.6 as i just ordered it yesterday.
