Question about SwapMagic Slim and Regular

Hello, I own the swapmagic 3.6 for regular ol' ps2 first edition, and also Breaker Pro version 1.1

My ps2 is beginning to break down on me and I've cleaned the lens plenty of times, but it only fixes it for a few days before problems arise again.

I was thinking of fixing this by just going out and buying a slim, but wasn't sure whether or not I would need to run out and re-buy Swapmagic and Breaker Pro.
