I use TMPGEnc to encode an avi video file to mpeg-2 and the fil looks fine but it seems slowed down as if it is just playing slower than it should. i used the guide at the top of these forums does anyone know what i can do to make the file play right? Or if i re-encode the original file can someone give me instructions on how to make this not happen. Just ask for any info you need
Usually you can have audio problems if the AVI containd MP3 VBR audio. But this is easily dectected (and, after, it can be corrcected): open the file in VirtualDub and see if it gives warnings. What does it mean 'playing slower'? Does the movie play 'wrongly' both on your PC and in your DVD player? Did you watch it on a DVD player (it might be a MPEG-2 codec problem in your PC).
The .avi file i have plays fine but after i encode it to mpeg-2 it appears to be in slow motion i cant find anything to help me i even burned the mpeg-2 to a dvd (which workd on my dvd player) but it was still in slow motion. It seems like it skips frames or the frame rate isnt high enough someone plz help me this is becoming very annoying. File : 1.84 GB (1020 MB), duration: 1:41:01, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 84 % Video : 3.91 GB, 5544 Kbps, 23.976 fps, 608*336 (16:9), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4, Supported Audio : 1.08 GB, 1536 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x1 = PCM, Supported That is the information from avi codec. Im at a loss Also i used IFOEdit to put the .sup subtitles and they do not show up. And when i play it on my dvd player the timer on the dvd player goes somewhat like this 0:01:50 then instantly it will go to 0:01:51 then it will lag for about 2 seconds and go to 0:01:52 One more thing when i open the file in virual dub and play it it appears slowd down and if i watch the framerate it skips frames while playing. I dont understand this because if i watch in realplayer or windows media it is perfect dvd quality
