Question about XP pro and Internet use

    I'm running Windows XP pro and I've noticed that what I'm online and I have several browsers open at the same time, my screen will switch back to another browser on it's own regardless of what I'm doing. This can be frustrating if I'm in the middle of reading something and i don't know how to stop it from doing this. Why is this happening? What can be done about it?
    Sorry, but I don't know a lot about computers :(

    what browser as in ie7, ie8, firefox, chrome or what?
