Got my BenQ 1655 yesterday and installed it as a second burner. It came with Fireware BCGB, then i updated to BCHB with no issues.

But if i keep any media in the Benq 1655 burner the light (green) will be always "on" even if i am not doing anything with the burner i.e even idle position. Is this normal? or did anyone experienced this.
My other LG burner light will be on only if it performs read/write.

    Thank you, redice.

I have also noticed the Benq burner was very hot(if i touch the face plate and even dvd disk) when compared to LG burner (just 30 mts of burning). Any suggestions on this over heating ...

I'm guessing your 1655 is an external drive since you said it came with firewire. I would assume the heat is coming from the transformer used to power your drive and I wouldn't be concerned.
