question on firmware

    this may seem simple to most butI am honestly frustrated. I have a sony 510 dvd recorder. it rip at 4x max. But all the media that is coming out is 8x max. so when i try to use that media it says "power calibration error." the guy at best buy say i needed to download firmware. I tried looking on the net but no help. can someone help me

    yes, but everytime I go there I download the program it tells me and never solves the problem. Any ideas ??

    There may be hacked firmware for your drive at this site. Once on the site just type in your model in the search area.

    Check meritline.com or rima.com there is 4x media still out there. And I believe you can still get 4x at bestbuy.
