Hey everyone I have a quick ? I am looking on getting myself a LCD monitor and I am lookin at the samsung 930B I have no idea if this is a good monitor due to I have never owned a LCD monitor. SO I was wondering if it is a good monitor or if not can someone let me know what would be better. Thanx
hmmm samsung ... i use is quite good, maily look is response time , gor gamers , e.g.s us(micro seconds) - ns (nano seconds) + dvi connector for gamers .. and of course if you wan it more versatile .. can get your needs.
well it has 8ms response time which I know is pretty good and it has a dvi connector as well. So does this monitor sound like a good one to get please send any inputs thanx
i have a samsung 915 with a 8ms response time and love it. i think the one you are looking at is similar. i say if the price is good, then go for it. i would watch the sales on newegg, lcd monitors tend to go on and off sale quite often, so don't buy it right away, it will always go on sale at some point.
well I would say the price is right atleast in my opinon and its been staying on sale constantly with alot of different stores I think the montior I am looking at is similar to yours well I am quite sure now I am gona go with that one thanx everyone for the info
19" LCD Pixel Pitch: 0.294mmH x 0.294mmV 17" LCD Pixel Pitch: 0.264 Less is best for clarity. I would go down to a 17" or up to a 20.1 if you also want more clarity from your screen.
yea thats a good point scubabud than I think I will go to a 20in but im gona watch around for some good deals before buying
20" LCDs tend to have longer response times so beware. They do, however have the best resolution to size ratio of large LCDs.
ok thanx everyone for all you info and help it has really helped me out on figuring out what I want to go with I will take all your info into consideration thanx again
"Most of the 20.1's have a 16ms response time which is still considered excellent even for gaming" Is it? I don't consider 16ms excellent for gaming, i consider it good, and below it fair. I've heard even 16ms monitors can ghost...
Thanks for YOUR opinion. Of course the lower the better, but 16ms is plenty fast enough. Also ghosting occurs above 16ms, that is why 16ms and below is considered to be a good gaming monitor.
Unless you have your frequency signal above 60Hz. If it's only 60 then yes, generally with 16ms you'll be safe, but above 60 (for instance my CRT is at 85Hz) then ghosting will come into play, since the screen changes every 12ms, and the LCD only every 16.
If your gonna go 20.1" then check out Dells range of monitors, http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/...y_id=6198&cs=19&l=en&Page=productlisting.aspx the 2005fpw is a very good monitor quite a few people i know use these and none can say a bad word against it ... don't know how the prices compare to similar product's in th U.S but here in the U.K it's a absolute bargain

my plans changed my mom is giving me her 17inch lcd monitor it has 16ms response time. Will this be good enough for gaming. Will I see any ghosting?
i dont know anything that you guys are talking about but i have an LG Flatron L1510S 15" and its pretty damn fast and the image quality can only be described as magnificent can you post your opinions on this, i thing anything bigger than a 15" is a loss of quality... unless the right display setting is used...
No, as long as you buy a good monitor, 17" monitors can give you far better image quality than 15"s, and even 19s can give very good image quyality if you're willing to pay for it.
