I have a soft modded Xbox (using SID5) with a larger Hard drive. I also have the original soft modded hard drive from my xbox in case I need it.

I am pretty sure that my dash version is not the most current, but it is the one before that probably. I assume if I get my hands on any newer game I should probably undo the soft mod to update the dash, and then re-mod it.

My question is, do I need to install the original HDD before I uninstall the soft mod? If so then do I have to go through the process of unlocking, formatting with xbhdm (after updating dash,) and locking the larger HDD again?

A "newer game" .. err.. what planet are you from? sid5 is later than the last released xbox games.. the dash will be suitable...I run evox on a hardmod from 2003 and that has never had any problems with any game.

So Halo 2 won't try to update my dash, and mess everything up?
