Question on Western Digital 500GB External Hard Drive??

    Yes, I just got a 500GB My Book External Hard Drive put by Western Digital. I have heard good things and bad things about it. Does this Hard Drive crap out after a few months like I heard on Amazon.com or is this drive the real deal. I have heard that my friend has had no problems with his, but can anyone tell me otherwise.

    Any hard drive can go belly up right away. Sometimes, it can be the fault of the user. If it is connected via USB, you should definitely click on the little "safe to remove" icon, in the tray.

    If you just shut it off, without doing that, you are asking for troubles.
