    Hi,

I just want to know if it's normal for some games like PSX MYST and others running on the PSP to have a small screen size even if the settings are set to full screen or zoom. The top, bottom and sides seem to be cropped off no matter what screen size setting I use.

I'm not asking for a fix or how to obtain any files, so I figured this would be a legitimate question.

If any other information is requested, I'd be happy to give it.

    Thank you.

i would say it is possible that the program used to convert the title has its settings changed for those sizes. This especially likely if it was obtained through 'shady' Rom sites (no accusation intended).

If you, yourself, converted them, then it could be just the game being stubborn to change. Assuming the procedure was followed correctly though.

Either way, i'd blame the game. You'd need a second opinion on this.

I used PSX2PSP v1.4.2 to convert my MYST image into an EBOOT. I'm using custom firmware 5.00 Update 4.

If anyone else has played MYST on their PSP and can remember what the screen sizes were like, that would satisfy my curiosity even more.

I'm gonna try IceTea 1.3 and see how it turns out then.

Apologies if I'm wrong here - it's a very long time since I played any PSX titles on my psp, and even longer since I ripped my old PSX discs and converted them.

But, I think there is a setting within the PSP where you can alter the screen size. I know for sure that I did it because I ripped Driver for PSX and was disappointed by the postage stamp sized screen rendering. I went into a menu/pressed select or something and managed to get it close to full screen.

Try experimenting a bit before you start re-ripping.

Sorry I can't be more helpful, but I'm sure there is some truth in what I'm saying!!

I've already tried altering the screen size by pressing the Home button and navigating to screen mode. I'm using a 1000 series Japanese Champagne Gold PSP. I also just recently tried switching the UMD Driver mode from Sony NP9660 to the M33 driver, but that didn't seem to correct it either.

I went on youtube and did a search for Myst on the PSP and saw full screen version being played, but then I did more research and saw that Myst was being ported to the PSP and that that might be the reason it was full screen, because it was being played on UMD format.

For now, I'm just guessing that the screen is being stubborn because it's an old game and probably one of the first to be made for the PlayStation.

I'd still like someone to try this game out on their PSP so they can describe how the screen size is working for them.

    Thanks again.
