If I go buy a used Xbox from Game$top, can I softmod it right away or would I have to worry about any sort of software version or firmware whatever like the PSP? Or can I just buy it and softmod it.
You should be able to softmod right away. The only thing you may have to do is verify that the most recent M$ dash is installed (5960). After that softmodding is pretty straight forward.
