I have been having problems with stalling , and re read the guides and have a question, in step 2 of the Mayo Method it says to create a folder on the burning drive, does that actually mean the DVD drive that is going to be doing the burning?? I know this sounds like a really dumb question, but it seems like I am going to be burning it 2 times with this method, am I missing something? I have been using decrypter and shrink, and still am getting stalling. I did see that you should wait a few days after the movie is released to burn, could that be my problem. Does decrypter and shrink automatically update when run. Thanks for any help.
decorkim, Welcome to the forum. If you are using Shrink I create a file on the Desktop and tell Shrink to save it there. I am not real sure what you mean by stalling. Is the "stalling happening when you use Shrink or DVDDecrypter?. Never heard of the theory to wait a few days to burn a movie after it came out as it would make unless they are talking about possible new encryptions and it may take a few hours or days to get the new encryption up and running. Shrink is no longer being updated as the author went to work for Nero and DVDDecrypter just shut down the other day. It is suggested to turn off the check for updates automatically in DVDDecrypter.
I haven't read any of bbmayo's guides,so I dont know what he meant.Just make a VIDEO_TS folder anywhere on your harddrive. As for dvd shrink, and dvd decrypter, updating, there will be no more updates with dvd decrypter, for legal reason, and dvd shrink hasn't been updated in over a year. The author of dvd shrink went to work for nero...so that's all folks!!
jim_dandy Don't worry as my typing is so slow by the time I finish 4 sentences you could have gone to the bathroom and had a beer. LOL
If decrypter shut down and shrink isn't being updated, what is the best software to use at this point? Where would I get the new encrypions? The stalling is occuring after the dvd is copied, during playback on my player. Not all movies do this, but Closer, In Good Company did for example.
hi all have you just got new media? as it sounds like discs to me if you get playback problems... what is the id code of the media use dvd identifier to get this could also be burning too fast?
