It totally depends on your DVD player, some Support more Formats than others....

If your DVD player diesn"t support Playing Back VCD"s or SVCD"s or DivX Files then there is no way you will be able to play these Types of Disks in your Player....

Why Not simply Invest the $40 and get a new DVD burner?? They are Just as Cheap as CD Burners and even cheaper in the Long run because on a MB per MB Basis Blank DVD"s are Much cheaper than CD-R"s..These days there really is no excuse not to have one....

You can Get Burners even cheaper if you Looked on e-Bay, i rescently bought a few pioneer DVD Burners for $20 each on e-bay so I"m sure you can find a simular Deal or just Look On TigerDirect and you can get one for as Low as $40 and even sometimes cheaper.....

    Cheers
