When using dvd decrypter do i write the .MDS or the .ISO image file... cause i have been writing the .MDS file and it works fine... what is the difference between the .MDS and .ISO image file... thanks
The MDS contains info about how your PC handle the iso file. It's like a written set of directions for your burning software. Even when you load the mds into DVD Decrypter, it still burns the iso. Technically it doesn't really matter, it's just better to burn the mds file if it's present. Sometimes when you download a game, it will only come with an iso file. In that case, it's okay to load the iso file into DVD Decrypter.
Thanks Tokijin have one more question when i use windip to patch the game so i can play online i have to patch the .ISO file so does that mean i have to write that particular file because im patching that file or stick with the .MDS file... Thanks
No you need to find the DNA ID and patch that. It'll look like DNAIMG000, something like that. 20. Q. What are DNA's? A. Any game made after 2003 for the PS2 that is online playable contains one or more image files that has a "disk DNA checker." The online game server checks your game disk to see if it's the real thing or not. Thus, you have to discover which .img file on the game disc has the checker file. 21. Q. How do I patch DNA's? @phatjiggy You did the right thing man. You're suppose to choose the MDS file to burn. Actually the MDS is a small file (it has all the info and it instruct DVD Decrypter) to burn it right. It is wise and very useful to burn the MDS file, even with DL burning (that's the sh!t you want to choose when doing DL backups). Live and learn.
