    Hi,
I have been told that defrag of harddisk frequently will destroy the harddisk. Is that true?

First I've heard of that....but all use whether regular maintenance or everyday use will impose wear and tear on the drive and shorten it's life span.

    henryting,
I think someone is pulling your leg. If you do not defrag then the data the computer is looking could be all over the HD in different places ,thusly causing the HD to work harder to find all of the data it needs to do the compilation. Just defrag the HD as they are really cheap now and do not worry
