Hi! I bought ntsc version of PS2. But I live in europe, so this this purchase was fail a bit.
I have some questions about eventual modding.
    1. Is it possible to play some PAL games on NTSC even without modding?
    2. When I mod console is it necessary to make conversion of PAL games? I mean when I buy original one.
    3. Will be possible to play all movie dvds?

    1. Yes, to a point. There's a product called Swap Magic, but make sure you get an NTSC Swap Magic. Actually, for that price you might be able to get a PAL PS2.
    2. No. If you install a modchip you can play any import games you want. Again, for the price of the modchip you may be able to get a PAL PS2.
    3. No. There is no way to play PAL video DVDs on an NTSC PS2, NTSC is 29.97 pictures, PAL is 25 (therefore PAL movies are generally a little longer than NTSCs). Due to sloppy programming on Sony's side neither NTSC PS2s nor NTSC PS3s can play PAL video DVDs
