    Hi all,

me and my father bought a Pioneer 110D and are having problem burning DVDs. The buffer get down to 10%, at the exact same %, whatever the movie. My uncle have this burner too but don't jave any problem. My dad RMA he's first DVR-110D thinking it was bad. By the time he get a new one, he used a LG and had no problem. I readed a lot of thread about this problem and got no working solution.

    Here is the nero log.

    Any help is apreaciated. Thanks.

Your nero is pretty old try updating it the newest 6.6 version. Your dma is off on both hard drives and you are using the nvida drivers on the controler.
I reccomend getting rid of the nvida drivers then go into control pannel and remove the controler then reboot the computer and let windows setup the controler with its default drivers. It should then have dma back on for the hard drives.

My drives are in raid 0 so thats why DMA is off and I use the nVidia controller. I know this version of nero is old, my father use the 6.6 and have the exact same problem. Whatever the movie, on whatever the computer, the buffer get down to 10 at the same %.

Ahh I see. Is there not an update to the nvida driver? With it in raid 0 there may not be much you can do yet. I just am not a fan of the nvida myself. But thats just M.H.O. There like armpits we all have a couple.

I am seeing more and more people having trouble with nero with nvatabus on there system.

Well, I like nVidia :p. My father have an Intel board and have the exact same problem with he's 2 DVR-110D, and not with the LG. There must be something wrong with the DVR-110D.

Yeah I hear nvida is awesome for gameing.
I like intel myself. I use 82801eb ultra and via vt6410 raid.
I have had no problems with pioneer 106, 108 and hp640 with it. Have not tested a pioneer 110 yet.

I am searching the net for a solution for you if there is any. If you find a solution post here what it is. Like I said before it seems many with nvida are runing into problems and a solution would be great.

Your old version of Nero is not recogizing your drive:
You should go to 6.6.0.18 as that is the newest vers 6 of Nero.
    http://www.nero.com/nero6/enu/nero-up.php
Also you are trying to burn too close to the edge of your disc:
Set your target in Nero or Shrink to 4300 (custom) and you will stay away from the edge of the disc. And the Nvida drivers cause problems for many when using Nero. Don't know why for sure, but it happens.

    OK thanks for your reply.

I agree that maybe nVidia isn't the best for burning and my nero is currently old, but the real problem is that i get this error on 2 computer. Mine wich is a Athlon64 3700+, and my father that have a P4 3Ghz, with the latest nero. So this isn't related to nVidia or a nero version.

I'm not english so maybe i don't say exactly what i want to say.

Yeah most of the DVD copied still work, but when i run a CDCheck http://www.elpros.si/CDCheck/ I get checksum error, and the movie will often freeze for a second and also "pixelate"...there are some glitch, so i think this could be related to the queue again later. Nero always said Burn Processes Succesfull tough.

I found that is a pioneer thing like creaky said. Seems to be only a pioneer 110 thing though. It should only happen once or maybe twice in the burn. Once maybe at around 10-20% depending on write method and media used. It is cycling down and back up to another burn speed then might do it again at around 80% because of the 4 gig mark. Seems pioneer did this in the firmware for the drive to make better burning. If we can consider that better. I think anything that makes the buffer empty itself can not be good in the long run. It also seems the folks having more trouble with it then it is worth are running nvida as well. Something to do with the transfer rate. Many are posting at cdfreaks with the troubles.

I was wandering because I have been a fan of pioneer for a good while and have never had a cycle down error in my log of any kind. I may not be testing the 110. What I have will hold me until the next great thing comes around.
