hello, i'm pretty new to this site, i have a Panasonic Matshita DVD-Ram Drive LF-D310...i just want to know if this is a good drive...and where should i, if i NEED to, update my firmware THANKS FOR THE HELP :>)

MATSHITA DVD-RAM LF-D310 - 3G DVD-RAM (with 1x DVD-R), Panasonic 2G-3G DVD-RAM drive that doesn't support recording/rewriting to CD-R/RW; Published Capabilities: Does read CD-R media Does NOT write CD-R media Does read CD-RW media Does NOT write CD-RW media Does read DVD-ROM media Does read DVD-R media Does write DVD-R media Does read DVD-RAM media Does write DVD-RAM media Does support test writing Designed for archiving and long-term data storage. If you have one, keep it. If you plan to buy a new burner, buy a more modern multi-burner that supports DVD-RAM (i.e. 4G drive) and the more mainstream CDR/RW, DVD+/-R/RW. I think the Ricoh have a line with their MP5240 or the Panasonic LF-D521, altho I have only seen ads for these at Akihabara (the Tokyo electronics district) and have no personal experience on how "good" they may be.
