Hey, how do I get the same local IP every time I turn on my computer? I'm running XP pro btw. I sometimes use an ethernet cable and someimes wireless so it changes and I need it to be 192.168.1.106. Thanks and sorry if this is in the wrong section.

So you want both Local Area connection and Wireless connection on the same IP address. Remember you can only use either one. Otherwise, network is conflicted. If so, here are steps:

    Goto network connection
    goto properties of Local area
choose Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click on properties
click on Use the following IP address
    enter 192.168.1.106 at IP address
    save and close.

Then go back to network connection
    goto properties of Wireless
choose Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click on properties
click on Use the following IP address
    enter 192.168.1.106 at IP address
save. Hopefully, there will be no message here. It may show the IP address has been used.
    close.

    You are done.
