Can external hard drives be used like internal? Like can i put windows on it and use it as my boot drive?

    And another question about Externals...

What is a good one? I'm looking for an external for video editing but i can not afford one of those nice 1 TB raid drives....

    Thanks

    David

External hard drives are the same as internal, they just have an enclosure, and a USB, or Firewire to IDE interface inside.

If your computer can boot from external device, then yes you could use it to install Windows to. But, that doesn't mean that drive will boot any other computer.
