I've currently got a pair of kingston PC2-6400 DDR2's running 1GB each and i'm looking to get an additional 2GB. (vista is a memory whore).

The only question i'm asking is does it make a difference with frequency? I've got the exsisting RAM fitted running at 400mhz and the new RAM i'm looking to buy runs at 800mhz.

They would be running at different colours on the DIMM ports, just wondering if it would work efficiently without wasting my time?

    Thanks in advance.

    Matt.

Well, if someone could correct me if I'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure all of the ram would just run at the lowest speed to stay the same. So, the new 2 gigs that you would get would default down the to 400mhz instead of running at their normal 800mhz.
