Its all gone a little cold and quiet on the wii hacking scene. Mod chips have come along and everyone is peacefuly installing their chips and sitting back to enjoy some backed up wii games and some GC homebrew. Well Im afraid this isnt good enough. Surley these mod chips open a small path to wii homebrew. Any reports on this?
Well; it's not the news you're looking for, but I can explain the silence. The Wii uses almost identical code to the gamecube; which is very impractical for homebrew code, not to mention nintendo traditionally doesn't have enough interest from the kind of people who usually develop the homebrew scene. The Wii might be a different story, if it takes off better; but there's no telling, really. Unless something happens differently from the 'cube though, it seems unlikely you'll see a lot of homebrew here at all. Probably not the answer you were looking for; but give it more time, and the answer may very well change.
