Well today my xbox 360 officially died for good. Worked for 13months then got the rrod. Replaced X-Clamps etc, kept touching this up by tightening things down further when it broke about a week after intial xclamp fix. Last resort someone tried to reflow my 360 but to no avial. I prob wont get another 360, might just try to sell everything i have. Does anyone know how much a broken 360 might fetch?

well the only worthwhile items from the 360 would be the DVD drive and it's only worthbabout 20 bucks used. And all the other stuff( hd controllers power cables) are only worth about 60 bucks total at most.

How did they try to reflow it? A lot of people will just use a hot air gun. I have an actual rework station that I use.

Question why didn't you send it back to Microsoft? You only had it for a year.

Im seriously considering sending my xbox into ms now, I should have done this before but i thought ms would just refuse to repair it since its been opened, also thought the xclamp fix would actually work in my case. I've now been reading of some reports of people sending in voided systems and getting a replacement! So heres my issue. My xclamps have been disposed of when my mate fixed it intially. I still have my warrenty sticker thats in pretty poor condition on one side but is still in one piece. So what do you guys rekon i should do? Is there a chance they will fix it? Can they take legal action against me etc for modded consoles? Need advice

I've heard of people sending in their modded 360's, and getting them fixed. I never really heard of M$ ever taking Legal Action toward anyone that sends it in. The only thing that I would think they would do at the worst for ya, is just send it back.

Sorry to hear your 360 RRoD'd on ya. This is my 8th 360 after 3 years... Kind of a shame...

I didn't pay for all 8 of them. Once one got the RRoD, I would take it back and exchange for a different one.
