I just got my R4 few days ago, the problem with it is Everytime I play any game it always freezes either loading it, or during a game play. I've formatted it to a FAT32 and i'm using a kingston 2gb mirco sd, with firmware 1.20 (i've already tired using a bunch of other versions, but I can't seem to get any them to play a game correctly) the R4 menu screen pops up fine, just the problem is with the game play. Here are few pics of what I bought.

(The R4 haves a holographic 1 sticker on the back)

I'm pretty sure it's a clone at this point. Just as long as I can get it to work, then i'm fine, better then having to carry all my DS games. Thank you for time everyone.

Kittymat: THANKS it worked!! I almost didn't try it because I didn't think it would make a difference. It would either get stuck on "Loading" or blank out on me, and after reformatting it works perfectly.

I personally use The CycloDS Evolution but for my friends who don't need advanced features and don't deal with GBA/homebrew/browser I get them the cheapest one around. The R4 Revolution, iTouch DS, Top Toy DS all worked great. I'm of the mindset that all carts nowadays, "fake" or "real," work equally well. The R4 Revo was something crazy like $14, and the 8 gig MicroSD card was $25 or so. $40 or so for a set. That is unreal. I paid about $150 for my CycloDS and 8 gig card back in the day but got tons of enjoyment out of it, so it was money well spent :)

i do care about GBA emulation.

or maybe that cyclods ur talking about?

    M3

R4 is a mixed bag, with at least 4 carts using the R4 tag, some of which are awful and some not bad.

I have an M3 and it is great, regular updates, very reliable and if you don't want GBA games than just buy the real rumble pack ($29) from dealextreme.com!
