    evnin all,

ive recently bought an r4 card after my g6 broke down. i didnt get the software cd included but downloaded the kernal from the off.site. i've formatted the micro sd (FAT32) and put everything that was in the download file onto the card, when i start the ds i just get loading.... then nothing. my roms are in a "games" folder and all system files in "_SYSTEM_" there are alot of files in downloaded file, not sure how many or what i should be putting in. Any Ideas??

Tom, did you purchase the R4 or the R4 III as they use different kernels.

Its the r4, didn't realise there were any other models,i've tried the 1.18 and 1.20 versions,i'm sure its about sorting all the files into folders maybe, the g6 was so easy to use!

what size is your micro SD card? I had problems with a 8G micro sd, but no probs with a 1G or 2G

I only use a 2Gb card in either the R4 or the R4 III although I am led to believe that the R4 III will accept the 4Gb card. Please don't take that as gospel, it's only what I've heard.

If its and original R4 then you should only use an SD card (i.e. 1 or 2GB) if its a clone some of these can use more. Do not format your SD card with windows, try using the free sd formatter from panasonic (use google its free - this has sorted a lot of SD card loading issues)
