I recently downloaded a rom for a Meteos game THAT I OWN. The problem is, it won't recognize any save file that it makes whenever I boot up the game. The problem isn't with the firmware, as every other game that's on there works and saves fine, and nothing freezes up. It's just that game. Yet I've downloaded it several times from several sites. Can anyone help me?

"The problem isn't with the firmware, as every other game that's on there works and saves fine . . . . "

Very possibly a wrong assumption. The symptom that you are reporting is exactly what you'd see of firmware that hasn't kept up with the game save type.

1)Upgrading to the latest firmware MAY solve your problem.

2)You may want to check the boards and forums first to see if your game is supported on your particular version of R4.

3)It is possible that your game is NOT supported on your flashcart.

I assure you, my firmware is the latest version I can put on my card. How exactly do you go about the other options?

    Google "<your game> R4DS SHDC problems"

As an example, Hello Kitty didn't work on the R4 revolution until patched save files were created.

Spongebob Squarepants: Atlantis Squarepantis still doesn't work on the R4 Revolution v1.18 because the game file cannot be saved. Since 1.18 is the LAST version of R4 (original) software, the game will never work.

That...has actually worked out. I don't know why I didn't try that before.

Although, the one it sent me to was a Japanese ROM...eh, I'll count my losses and take it. It's not like it's a hard game to figure out without the language.

EDIT: Through much persistence, I DID find a rom that holds saves, in English! If the first reply was right, I guess this means it's a perfect rom fit for my R4.

    Thanks, all!
