Hi I have recently purchased 2 R4 cards with 2gb sd cards, I cannot get either of them to go past the loading page, I have read all the info on here and tried every thing that people have said but i still cannot get them to work, I have tried the sd cards in something else and they work fine.

I have tried putting the r4 card in the ds with out the memory card and it still has the same black screen with the words loading.

I would be really grateful if someone can help.
    Thanks

Did you put the R4 data files into the microSD card? And of course it will not work if a microSD card is not present inside the R4.

Hi, Yes I placed all the 4 files _system_ ; moonshl ; _DS_MENU.DAT ; and _DS_MSHL.NDS to the root of the micro sd card.
    I downloaded the latest kernal V 1.19.
I have then inserted the sd card into the R4 but just sticks on loading page.

I dont really know what else to try

varies people in different forums are saying the genuine R4DS uses firmware upto v1.18 ( http://r4ds.cn/download/r4.html ) and the new R4DS-III is a clone and uses v1.19 and above ( http://www.r4sdhc.com/soft/27-en.htm ). Both website is very similar looking.

Try using v1.17 as i had read its the best version. (no harm in trying) good luck.
