    Please help.
Got my son DSi for Christmas and a R4i Revolution card. This worked fine all day and he could access it. Then I updated the software to V1.4e and I now get black screen with message error has occurred when tyrying to access the game.

I have spent hours now trying to figure it out and I am guffed.

1.I have downloaded firmware from www.r4ultra.com, but i dont know how to flash the card.
2.I have also downloaded kernel 1.55, which I originally tried placing on my card, but when I started up the dsi I had the same issue.

Please give me instructions on what to do and how to get this working again.

    Thanks

    Rossco

When the 1.4 firmware was released for Dsi, it disabled all flashcards temporarily until the creates of said cards released a patch to make them work again. Now, if I remember rightly, there wasn't any patches released for the R4i cards, so basically what I'm trying to say is, the card you bought is no onger any use for your sons DSi and you need to buy a new one... :-S

May I suggest getting an Acekard 2i... My preffered flashcard! ^o^

If the R4iUltra has issued an update for 1.4 (some cards you have to buy new ones) the kernal goes on a micro sd, put it in the card and you will need a 1.2 or 1.3 DSi or a DSlite to run it.

Thank you for your response. I dont have access to another DS so looks like a new card.

Can you advise a good site to buy one from that will come preconfigured. Also, is it just a case of copying my games from the old card onto the new one?

    Thanks

    Rossco

I don't know if they will definately come pre-patched, but I've always got my flashcards from gamekool.com! ^o^ It'd prob be worth asking the question on there. They're always really helpful! ^o^

If you want a reliable cart then try and avoid anything with R4 in the title, there are too many awful clones out there.

M3iZero. AceKard 2i, EZ Flash Vi all good carts that work well, I have personally tried the first two (M£ is my fav in operation) however they are all good choices
