R4i on 4.1.0.0e

    Hello, quite new to 3DS consoles so just after some help please.

    I've been given a 3DS and its never been updated I believe, it's on 4.1.0.0e.

    I've also got an R4i 3DS card, however it's not an RTS card, just a normal one. I want to play Mario Kart 7 from a backup - is it possible with the equipment I've got? I'm interested in other 3DS games have i got the right equipment?

    I read somewhere online that to i may need a Ds Lite to update something so I've got one of those aswell.

    Can anyone help me please?
