hi guys badly stuck got 3 of r4i cards and all it says when i try to load them on dsi is an error has occured it works fine in ordinary ds plz help as these are kids presents thank you.
It sounds like the kernal firmware is not the same as the DSi you are putting it into. If they work on DS then the firmware etc is fine. On a DSi I have heard that the R4i needs the DSi to be on the right firmware. Initially the DSi had 1.3 firmware, then this was upgraded to 1.4 (most R4i cards were scrap at this point - buy new ones) R4i cards being sold now are for 1.4 firmware DSi's. 1) Check the firmware of your DSi if its 1.3 then use the internet and upgrade to 1.4 and see if the R4i cards work then. 2) If its 1.4 then you have been sold old stock R4i's return them (next time buy something other than R4 - all 38 versions of them - try M3iZero, EZ Flash Vi or AceKard 2i - all of these can alter the kernal so offer some future proofing)
There are many versions of R4i, at least 5 or more. Some of them is R4U, maybe you can try to download the firmware on http://www.r4ultra.com/.
All the current DSi v1.4 compatible cards available except possibly the Acekard 2i are preflashed unless you're getting them from select stores like www.dscardworld.com and others the preflash them for you.
Many cards are compatible with V1.4. One frined got r4i from depot888 and downloaded the kernel from http://www.r4ultra.com/. It works well!
how do i get the software for my r4i to work in my dsi when i have the internet on it the card come up with an error as occurred
First establish exactly which R4i you have, if you still have the packaging, the manufacturing website should be on it.
