Maybe a simple task for most gamers, but I am new to this.. I have bought a new R4i card for the DSi, and have been told I can copy my existing NSD cartridges over to the mini SDHC card which fits into the R4i cartridge. I have kids and would rather they had all the games in one cartridge. Can this be done, or is it only downloaded games from the internet that can be dragged/dropped onto the card? If they CAN be copied from the original shop-bought cartridges, how do you do it? I have an iMac, so I'm assuming this will not pose a problem in itself. If ONLY downloadable games from the net can be loaded up onto the R4i card, is there a safe site from I can get these, and what should I expect to pay? Lengthy question I know, but any help would be really appreciated. Cheers.
First off - You should just be able to transfer your ds roms from your old flash cart to your new cart - put them in the roms folder. To copy/acquire copied games - You can make your own copies with a flash card reader - I think. I've also read that the ds cart can be disassembled and inserted into a regular 8-1 card reader. Your best bet is to just download the games from torrent sites or something like that. I'm pretty sure AD is against us talking about stuff like this, so you just have to google it. I wouldn't worry if they are "safe" or not, as long as what you download is a .nds file and not a .exe or something - you should be fine.
Thanks for your prompt reply. Sorry but I am lost already - COuld you put it in layman's terms please? Transferring ds roms onto flash cart - you say you "put them in the roms folder". Where am i looking for a roms folder, on the DSi itself? If so, how do i access it from the onscreen menu ?
I have a question.....I use this japanese site to download my games from edited by ddp what I am finding is now alot of games when I open the folder dont have the .nds file in it ready to copy over but it contains another zipped file but when I try to open up that zip and transfer over the .nds file it says the CRC integrity test has failed. I am not sure what I am doing wrong or if there is another good site to download the games from.
