i'm upgrading my graphics card and seem to have settled for the sapphire radeon 9600 pro advantage 256mb ddr is this a good choice as i'm new to pc gaming and don't really know whether this card is compatible with the newest game's and future releases i can get this card for £62. what is the difference between xt's pro's and se's. or would it be better to go for the 9800 128mb is the difference between 256mb and 128mb noticable any advice will be appreiciated.

Even though this is a third party Bord with more memory intended for that chip it is a good one. You should be able to play most current games providing the rest of your system is fast enough. I have an ATI built 9600 with 128 megs and it can play halflife 2 in medium settings. Plays Unreal tournament 2004 just fine. Hope this helps.

The 9800 is a far superior card. The 256 memory has little difference in real performance.

The 9600 is a reasonable entry level card. The way that games are going you need a half decent card. Otherwise you will regret it!

Just my humble thoughts on the matter
