Ram changing size

    Hey all I have m140 dell laptop with 512 memory and for the past three months it read as 1gb but I took it out to see if it has a scond slot and put it back in now its back at 512, now everythings running slowly so is it possible to get it back at 1gb with the same 512 stick?

    did it come with 512meg or 1gig?

    Came with 512 then I installed vista and It said 1gb now back at 512.
