Ram Disc's and Nero (problem)

Hi All,

Am trying to burn files (vob)from my hard disc onto a ram disc but when i load them into Express 3 allocation is fine but at the stage " Analyzing media files,please wait " it freezes.
Is there a quick fix or do i need to post the log file.

Unfortuneatly i got ahead of myself and as i said " it freezes " so i am unable to supply a log file.

Is it just the program that freezes or the entire system?

 

So it's only when a DVD-Ram disk is involved and of course the burner can write to DVD-Ram?
The log from any burn would provide information that might help.

1. Yes it's only the programme that freezes.

2.I have the NEC 4551A Writer so it is capable of writing Ram.

You didnt say what Nero Version you are using ? Have you tried to uninstall with the proper CleanTool from Nero.. then re-install the software ?
There is a CleanTool for version 6.. and one for version 7 !
I use version 6 after weeks of trying to get Version 7 to work properly ; I have tried to duplicate what is happening to you on a DVD-Ram but it works flawlessly.
If you give a try again after re-installing.. maybe you can post a log that Creaky can have a look at !! He is doing darn good at reading those logs << smiles>>

 

Heyyyyyyy ! Creaky I seen the meticulous task you do on those logs ! That is so great -- specially from a MOD that has enough to handle already !

<<nudges Creaky >> seems that CCampbell from Nero has disappeared -- they should offer you a job @ Nero !

Sorry i'm using Nero 6 updated to the latest version. I have the Clean Tool so i'll give it a go and get back to you all.

OOops!!! forgot to mention that am not on a NEC 4551A Writer but on the newest from Hitachi-LG , the LGE-GSA-4167B with firmware #12 -- using Maxell DVD-RAM media -- This should not be a criteria in your problem as it's your Nero that does not seem to be able to do the processing before the burn.

Well i've done the clean job and re-installed Nero 6 reloaded with latest 6.6.0.18 and i at last got past the "analyzing media files " but am now stuck with " DVD-VIDEO & MULTICHANNEL 5.1 required " which can be downloaded from nero.com but are included in Version 7.
I thought 6 reloaded was the bee's knees and would do everything but alas its the same old storey ,money,money,money.
Am i snookered or do i have to upgrade to 7
