Ram

    I need more Ram for a game 512 and 128 can anyone tell me what should I buy and does it make a difference what kind of comp you have.
    Also is it difficult to put thatin can i do this with some instructions from the internet.

    there is sdram for p2, p3 & early p4 & amd equivalents. ddr & ddr2 for newer p4's & amd equivalents. can't put sdram with 2 notches into a ddr slot with 1 notch or vice versa.

    how do I know which one I need
    does it say anything on the motherboard ?

    your motherboard manual or user guide should tell you

    one more question. the sticker on my pc says 512mb DDR SDRAM memory
    and pc says that there is only 448mb what does it mean. Is RAm like the regular memory that after you format its less

    also if I take out the RAM that is installed in my pc just to check what kind is it and than put it back in, will it work or will I have to do something else to make it work because I dont want to mess anything up

    you should be alright, try avoiding giving it a shock, or dont break it,when taking it out unhook the 2 sides of the stick and take it out gently, dont use force, and read what ever u have to read, and when placing it back in, put it the same way u found it, try to memorise or see the bottom of the ram stick so it matched the holes into ur motherboard, and push it in, and when its in, close the ends of the ram stick

    if have 512meg of ram but reading 448meg than 64meg is used for onboard videocard.

    256 MB DDR 333 CL 2.5 thats what I have (2 of them) anyone here could tell me what specific RAM should I get to improve the PC. I will buy it on ebay if you could get me some key words that would be great.
