I'm having a random problem while backing up discs using DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15. During the burning process, the burner will randomly shut itself off during various stages while burning, forcing me to cancel DVD Shrink. After I close the program, the DVD burner will not respond when pressing the eject button, but will respond to right-clicking the icon for E:\ (my burner) and choosing Eject. Has anyone else experienced random drive-shutoff like myself?

The drive is a NEC DVD+-RW (ND-3450A) and is the slave of the master-secondary IDE drive, an HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM (GDR8163B), using DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15 and Nero 6.3.1.4.

I'm using WIN XP, SP3 as well.

All of the drivers are up-to-date, and I burn regularly on this drive, so the burn function is in tact.

Take DVD shrink out of the picture by saving the output to the HDD then burn using ImgBurn to see if it's the burning program.
    Is the burner firmware up-to-date.
