I have .rar files that I want to watch on my notebook. I have downloaded Win RAR to uncompress these files. Once they are uncompressed, I am lost. I don't want to burn them to disc, I simply want to play them on my cpu. My question is then 2 fold. 1) Is thera a program that will play .rar files and 2) If not, how do I go about watching these files once I use Win RAR? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

You cant 'watch' a RAR. A RAR is consisted of files which are compressed to reduce the size.

What kind of files are inside the RAR?

They are bin/cue movie files from my personal library ;). I have successfully burned the file to cdrw for playback, butit only plays in my dvd player and not in my cpu. Can you play these files on a cpu?

You can play the Burned Movie on your Comptuer.

You can download a program eg Alcohol 120% which will create a 'virtual cd-rom' drive then you can mount the Bin/Cue file to watch just as if you had burned them to a CD.

I burned the movie onto a CDR and it plays in my standalone dvd player, but will not play on my computer in media player. Do I need a special program to play it on my cpu? If I put it into my dvd drive on my cpu, nothing happens.

To play the movie that you have burned to CD-R, use something like PowerDVD or the like to play it.

Just open up the program eg PowerDVD, open disk, point to the drive where the CD-R is, and click Open

Download a player called VLC. You can find it @ complete downloads.com or in the SuperNova sight. It will play your .RAR files ONLY after extraction, (as you've already done). I just did this, and it works great. The viewer also recognizes other file types not normally supported in a windows format.

    What is the File Extention ? CD1.rar ? CD1.bin ? CD1.cue or something like that ?

If it has .rar, you will needs WinRAR to open the file, then extract all the files out of it. Then if there is smaller rar's, you will need to open the first, and there would most likly be a BIN and CUE file, which you then need to burn.
