I've got an RAR file. How do I play it on the computer and also burn it to DVD. I only know how to do that with AVI files.

Rar files are compressed files using winrar (like zipped files that are made using winzip). You need to download winrar to remove the file in order to use it.

I used WinRAR until the free trial ran out, now I use 7-Zip. It seems to work great on everything I have tried so far and it is free. Just my 2cents.

Yet another person who doesn't have a clue how to use the search function ffs.. there is a stickied topic "what to do with rar files".. and a bunch of spammers all making suggestions...

winrar may have a free trial, but it never actually "runs out" .. It just pushes a "buy now" screen but carries on working.

Thanks for the info varnull :)
I just seen that it had one day left, so I just uninstalled and went on using 7-Zip.

Thanks for the replies so far. It sounds like varnull is saying I should have searched for related threads before posting a new one? I will look first next time.

    I appreciate the help. Thanks.
