I have the SONY DSC F828 and i am looking for a good programme to convert the RAW image data. Does anyone know of any that is compatible with this camera? Also thinking on getting photoshop cs or cs2 but are there any good guides on using these (especially on converting RAW).
Thanx for any feedback and help with this matter.

looking for making adjustments like setting white balance, playing with temperature, focus, colour correction. Basic photo manipulation.

Cameras that support raw files typically come with proprietary software for conversion of [bold]their raw format[/bold] to TIFF or JPEG. Other conversion programs and plugins are available from vendors that have either [bold]licensed the technology from the camera manufacturer[/bold] or reverse-engineered the particular raw format. Before you buy, make sure your camera is supported by the software ; it is a proprietary system for each camera manufacturer, do not forget.

If you are on a Mac -- Apple has a program called Aperture to handle RAW photos.

On a PC you can get Adobe Photoshop CS with the RAW plugin to do your work.

Dont know if you are familiar with the RAW format, it might be of interest to you and to people in here that do not know what is the RAW format in photography. Here is :-
