If I always only want the feature without menus and extras do I need RB pro for that?
Also is RB better than DVDReasy?
I only ever want the feature no extras!
    ty in advance

to do movie only/movie menu only setting's in rebuilder you will need the pro version.

I've not tried dvdreasy so I cannot give biased opinion on it's outout but as far as I've seen and read dvdrebuilder using it's multitude of encoders has the best quality rendering capabilities out there!

I only do the movie only without menu with DVD-RB Pro. Works great and from what I hear you can't get better quality that DVDRebuilder Pro with CCE! works for me!!!!

You can chose to "steal space from extras" in the pro version,I didnt realize you couldn't do that with the free version.
rb/cce is the only thing I use if the movie takes any kind of compression.
Well worth the money and the time it takes.

    Hiya jd, how ya doin?
I'm almost positive you can steal space from extra's,
but I know you cannot do movie onlymovie menu only settings.
I have a freeware copy on the other p.c. but it's not hooked up presently, I'll have to look into it

But you can do a FEATURE ONLY (no menus, extras etc) with DVDRpro version correct??

very true rebuilder picks the largest vts file and associates this with being the main movie

however after "prepare" mode you will be able to use the segment editer and blank or still what ever you wish.

OK I must've read that wrong, you were talking about the movie and menu only..so that can only be done with the pro version?

I usually only do movie only, I dont much care for the menu but the wife now and again wants the extras(yawn)kept,to each their own I guess :)

I've been a RBPRO owner for a couple years now.I am so sold on the combo of RB/CCE I havent tried any of those other encoders that come with the installer,I may have to get to that someday.

Thanks for all the welcome backs...I had to take some time off, these forums start to grind on ya after awhile...I have been lurking more than posting of late,Im going to try to post more now.

    Later guys

Then just get VobBlanker 2.1.0.0 or the latest 2.1.1.0B1 (beta version) and BLANK out any unwanted junks like FBI Warnings, trailers/previews, menu, Logos (Rating logos/screens), director's commentary, etc. inprior to proceed with RB Pro + CCE SP. You can actually play/preview any VTS or PGCs with VobBlanker's built-in player easily, if you don't like it (what you see), then just blank it out.

I'm a "full disc" person, but I primarily used VobBlanker to "blank out" any unwanted junks/craps that I don't need it, then process my VIDEO_TS.IFO file through VobBlanker. Once it's done, I'll just continue on with RB Pro + CCE SP.

@Alcohol..... I use DVDRemake Pro to take out all the unwanted stuff..... and when I do espisode DVDs I can even adjust the menu and hide buttons to defeat the extras so the menu works for just episodes! Otherwise I just use DVD-RB and check the Movie only and it does all the work! Takes out the menu, extras, unwanted warnings and leaves a perfect, quality video movie! I never used Voblanker because I became so proficiant with DVDRemake Pro! Have you tried Remake and how do you compare it to Voblanker? I'm with Mort on this when he says: [bold]DVDRemake Pro followed by DVDRebuilder Pro/CCE Can't get better than that![/bold]

@aabbccdd...... I used to use CloneDVD but it's just a program like DVDFab Plat! sure it may be faster than DVD-RB (of which I got times of 48Mins total, from beginning to finished burn! on some movies!)but depending on the size of your TV.... I just am a DVDRebuilder fan when it comes to encoding and I let it burn automatically with ImgBurn! excellant job!

you know...... I used to use faster programs, too, and still do but most of the time now.... I'll use DVD-RB. I get great times because my computer is fast and I keep it tuned up using System Mechanic 6 and it flies like new! Soooo the littel extra time it takes to burn a movie with DVD-RB doesn't matter to me when you get the best quality out there! I try NOT to skimp for speed!

    @IHoe

Mort81 had mentioned (or told) me about DVDRemake Pro, but I've never tried it before. I know it's a great dvd remake program and I'll definitely try it soon.

On the other hand, VobBlanker is a free tool, it is a tool that you can easily "cut or blank out" any VTS, PGCs, Cells or unwanted junks like FBI Warnings, Rating logos/screens, previews/trailers, director's commentary, menu, extras, etc.

The good thing that I like about VobBlanker is that it will "process" and fix/correct any left over unremovable dummy cells, bad sectors, invalid data structures, etc. and produce a fresh VIDEO_TS file free of encrypted junks, meaning the VIDEO_TS is pure and clean. Plus it's free and it takes only 5 minutes to process and filter out junks.

Nothing really to add that hasn't already been mentioned. I like to always keep the menu especially for those dvd's that have a DTS soundtrack so I can select it. I like DTS for my surround system and choose it whenever possible.

I also use vobblanker on occasion to process the files before I load them into dvdremake. For some reason on "Madagascar" the main movie file wouldn't load into dvdremake without first being processed with vobblanker. Weird. Even though I do have anydvd, I think I will start processing all my ripped folders with vobblocker (only takes about 5 min) before loading them into dvdremake. Then it's onto dvd-rebuilder pro/cce.

I realize all this takes a little more time but I also know I have the best quality backup possible without using DL media and have only the stuff I want to keep on the backup without all the previews warning screens and other garbage.

I tried using a VobBlanker ripped file of The Cave using RB and had some problems. When it processed RB had to extract the still images that were put in from VB and the sound came out distorted, neve had it happen before. Have not tried again since, been using AnyDVD with DVDD. Could be just a fluke but I thought I just give my 2 cents.
