Hi all. Don't know if I'm in the right place but I thought I'd give it a whirl. I bought a RCA camcorder, model #CC6384 a couple of years ago. It's been wonderful and I had no problems until I went to videotape my son's birthday party. When I turned it on and tried to shoot some video a message came up that says:

    E04
    Remove and reattach battery
    unit in safeguard mode

I have removed the battery a whole bunch of times and nothing happened. Does anyone know what this means and how I can fix it? I wouuld appreciate any help or advice. I don't want to miss capturing more important moments in my little boys life because of this. Do I need a new camera or am I just not getting the problem?

    Thanks all.

Have you tried replacing the battery? I don't know what the message means but it sounds like the camera is complaining about the battery._X_X_X_X_X_[small]Comp 1: Dell Inspiron P4 2.4Ghz / 512 MB RAM with 24x CD-RW and Firewire In, SVideo Out running XP Pro
