i have an intel wit rd ram right now i have 256mb of ram since im starting to upgrade it for gaming and rd ram really expensive would it be more affordable to buy a new motherboard that uses ddr?
It probably would, but unless you get a mobo that supports the DDR2 RAM, it won't help. Your RAMBUS will run circles around any first generation DDR RAM. RAMBUS died because of its proprietary ways.
Rambus didn't exactly die. They DID make XDR RAM for the PS3, which runs at here we go...3.2Ghz. RDRAM is great...if you've got the cash.
