Hi all! This is my first official post on this webpage and I just wanna say wutz up to everyone! Anyhow... I'm sort of new to this stuff so bear with me here. I got convertx to dvd and finding it works well but have had a slight issue with audio. I converted 2 xvid videos with dts audio tracks, and when I went over to my buds place to watch them I had no sound. He has a multi format dvd player with dts decoding and a crt 32" stereo tv. Was I wrong in assuming his player should down code to stereo or would he have to have a dts-amplifier to get audio? Many Thanks for any replies!!!

I'm under the impression that dts doesn't down mix, so your buddy would have to have a dts amp. AC3 5.1, however, will down mix to 2-channel on most systems. When I make backups I always remove all audio except for the AC3 5.1. The dts stream is also a bigger file making the compression higher and your quality lower.
