Hmm, well it sounds like spy-ware, which can direct your browser to a certain page. But about.com is actually a legitimate website. what exactly are you doing with your browser when it redirects you to about.com?
hasnt happened since i made this thread as i removed some about.com stuff from my registry, fingers crossed it doesnt come back.
