I'm hoping somone can help with this issue. I've tried several times to copy Stealth and War of the Worlds. Everytime I receive an error message that either there was a read error on an unnamed file, or just a read error. Stealth gives me this message at 1% of the read and War of the Worlds does it at about 12% of the read. I thought it was a problem with my computer, so I took it to a friends and received the same error on theirs. We both use DVD43Free and 1click. Could the movie industry have started using a new encryption? By the way, after I started receiving this message for Stealth and War of the Worlds, I did burn Herbie Loaded and Charlie & Chocolate factory, so I know my software and decrypter work. Anyone have any thoughts, suggestions, or answers to this problem?
I believe they must be using some new encription. I have been using DVDXCopy Platnium and have had great luck with the program copying everything until they started putting the additional screen in front that is blue. Then everything quit working. The program reads the disk and then I get error messabes when it goes to burn the disk. I am not even sure what a decripor is. I got to admit, I am really anxious to see the answer to this one.
JT, Try using DVDFab Decrypter with ANYDVD running in the background and Shrink to compress and burn with DVDD.... Worked for me although my Original purchased copy of stealth was bad and had to be replaced...............War of the worlds i believe has no "SPECIAL" encryptions
to all backed up my new copy of war of the worlds and had no problem doing soo with shrink it to Dual layer drive....ok
Just some info: I have copied War of the Wordls Region 1 Full-Screen and have found no special protection. If you have this version, make sure your disc is not scratched or dirty. Try cleaning it and if it still fails, then you should exchange it. Stealth has ARccOS structure corrpution on it and requires use of updated programs or using some tricks with Decrypter. The updated programs that can handle this movie are AnyDVD and DVDFab. If you have either, make sure they are updated. i dont know about war of the worlds,but stealth i was able to burn using dvd shrink and then dvd cloner II,also used anydvd ,it work good,burned the whole movie and previews too.
I was able to copy and burn War of the Worlds using AnyDVD decrypter, but I still haven't been able to copy Stealth. Problem is that it won't even read the disc using AnyDvd and 1click or DVD43 and 1 click. Haven't even gotten to the burn, and when you don't get to the burn, there's nothing in the log file to tell you what the issue is, much less how to solve it.
does your copy of stealth play ok on a dvd player. have copied it with nero6. nero7. clone cd . and dvd2. with dvd region free running in the background. had slight prob with nero6 as you say files missing. but copied it as an image file because it played ok on a dvd player.
If you are referring to my copy of Stealth, yes it plays perfectly. I did not burn with Nero though. I used DVD Shrink to compress and then DVD Decrypter to burn. I like Decrypter more than nero for burning images.

Don't worry about it. I misunderstood, your question. I thought by copy you meant backup copy not original copy. @jbutler, If AnyDVD has a problem, then disable it and try with DVD Decrypter alone, with no help by any other program. I posted the PSL file for the Widescreen version above, so you will be able to rip it without any help. If you have the full-screen version use the PSL guide for Decrypter. It is one of the links in the post with the PSL.
